Our School of English
The School aims to give the students
the opportunity to maximize study time through well-organized courses in
English as a Foreign Language. We
believe that young and adult learners achieve better results in appropriate
linguistic contexts and so our approach is based on interaction patterns of
social and educational nature. Our

valuable opportunities for strengthening self-confidence

All our teachers are
professionally trained personnel fully committed towards developing English
courses for the general learner as well as for the more specialist client. Our approach is based on a language
methodology that naturally moves from text to task and other meaningful
exercises. The atmosphere is friendly
and relaxed and the methods used will ensure complete teacher-student

Our Courses in English as a Foreign Language
Our International School
offers a wide variety of courses at different levels of achievement, from
beginners through to intermediate and up to advanced. You can choose to study in a group or on an individual one-to-one
basis. Starting dates for each course
are flexible and carefully designed according to the needs of each group of
students. It is usual to start a course
on a Monday following it on for one week, two weeks or even more.
Courses for Beginners
These courses are intended
for those learners who are starting their study of English for the first time as
well as for those who are considered to be near-beginners. The main emphasis is on learning the
communicative use of English in everyday situations. It will be an opportunity for our young / adult clients to
maximize their study time and obtain necessary language skills to help them
move on to the next higher level.

Lower-Intermediate and Intermediate

by the students according to their needs.

Upper Intermediate and Advanced
These courses take our

their communicative perspective by taking part in discussions, debates and
other language enhancing tasks.

Intensive
English Course
The course content is designed for young adult
learners and busy professionals who wish to develop an increased proficiency in
English. This can be done by means of
study material based on everyday themes and topics, giving the student
continual practice in the four language skills.
The Intensive Course will give you the opportunity to
maximise your study time and so acquire the language skills to help you move on
to your next higher level. The first
level is intended to give you a solid linguistic basis, usually at a
pre-intermediate standard. The higher
level of study will take you to a better functional use of English and so widen
the communicative perspective of what you are learning.

Person-to-Person Course
This is a highly motivating
user-related course in General English intended to satisfy the individual needs
of our clients. Together with the
teacher, the student will identify those language skills, which require
reinforcement and revision.
The emphasis, as in all other
courses, is on the practical use of English and the language tasks are related
to the job or profession in which English will be used with confidence and
correctness.

Conversational English
Programme
Students
are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of speaking practice in
achieving greater levels of fluency. Studying grammar is pointless without
having sufficient opportunity to use it in spoken language. Our conversation
programme is aimed at increasing the student’s confidence and active memory
through rich and varied discussion around topic areas. These lessons
specifically concentrate on speaking. The lessons typically involve debates,
discussion, pair work (with other students) and presentations. The functional
focus is on expressing opinions and preferences, disagreeing and negotiation
skills

Cambridge Examination Preparation Courses
These programmes provide a perfect
opportunity for students to achieve real language fluency. Students who choose
to participate in these programmes of more than twelve weeks will be able to
speak English to various levels of fluency.
At the end of the course students have the opportunity to sit for
international examinations in Malta such as the IELTS, KET, PET, FCE, CAE &
CPE
IELTS Examination Preparation Course
The
course covers the four language skills:- listening, reading, writing and speaking,
and prepares students for the popular IELTS.
The International English Language Testing System is designed to assess
the language ability of candidates who need study or work where English is used
as a language of communication. This
certificate is recognized by most universities in many countries. The IELTS
examination can be taken in Malta during the whole year, usually every month.
