EXAMINATION PREPARATION
COURSES
Gaining a certificate level of English is becoming
more important in this modern day and global economy. For this reason we
offer a wide range of internationally -accepted certificates.
The following exams are offered at ISIS Schools:
Cambridge Syndicate
The Cambridge exams are offered in June and December, with
enrolment in March and September.
The Preliminary English Test (PET) is for those who have an intermediate
knowledge of English.
First Certificate (FCE) is a higher level and is accepted in many countries
as a qualification to teach English at Primary level.
The Advanced (CAE) exam is more task-based and is aimed at students who have
been studying for 7-8 years.
Proficiency (CPE) is similar to a university degree in English language and
is recognised by companies worldwide.
IELTS Preparation
This examination is recognised as a language requirement for entry
into higher education in the UK and Australia.
TOEFL Preparation
TOEFL is necessary for students wanting to attend an American
college, and is now generally accepted in other countries like England.
ELTS can be taken each month, according to a published schedule and TOEFL can
be pre-booked by telephone, according to your schedule.
Business English
There are courses for intermediate and advanced students, each
based around a core textbook and developing the students’ effective
communication skills, ability to comprehend and issue business reports, and
analyse business issues and systems through the medium of English.
CERTIFICATE OF ATTAINMENT
All ISIS Language Schools award a certificate of attainment to
students who successfully complete a study programme and who take a written
test at the end of the course. It is designed to be an accurate record of the
students’ ability at the time of their leaving the school.
ACADEMIC YEAR
This course is designed to enable students to achieve proficiency
in English, and simultaneously receive instruction in "content
areas" of interest to the students.
Each student follows the 20 hour Standard English Course, appropriate to
their level. The three afternoon sessions a week (consisting of 6 hours per
week) are chosen from our examination courses, business English or any other
specialised afternoon class offered.
The afternoon sessions can only be undertaken when a student attains upper
intermediate level and above, so students below this level will receive extra
language tuition at the same times, until they have reached the appropriate level.
